You know what’s brilliant about this spot? You’re literally in the heart of Manchester, but it doesn’t feel overwhelming. I could walk to the Northern Quarter in about eight minutes, hit the shops on Market Street in five, and actually stumbled upon some fantastic independent cafes just by wandering around the block. The location score of 9.6 makes total sense — I mean, couples especially seem to love it here, and I can see why. There’s something romantic about being able to explore the city on foot, then retreat to this peaceful haven when you need a break from the urban energy.

The Room Experience

My room was on the second floor, and honestly, it felt more like a carefully curated apartment than a typical hotel space. The design strikes this lovely balance between contemporary and classic — think exposed brick walls paired with sleek modern fixtures. The bed was properly comfortable (not just hotel-marketing comfortable), and the bathroom had this gorgeous rainfall shower that I may have lingered in longer than necessary. What really impressed me was the attention to detail — quality toiletries, blackout curtains that actually work, and enough power outlets that I didn’t have to choose between charging my phone and using the bedside lamp.

The restaurant downstairs serves what I’d call elevated comfort food — nothing too fancy, but everything done really well. I had their Manchester-inspired breakfast (proper black pudding, locally sourced eggs), and it was exactly what I wanted after a morning exploring the city. The communal areas have this relaxed, living-room vibe where you actually want to hang out. I ended up chatting with other guests over coffee in the lounge area, which doesn’t happen often in hotels these days. There’s also a small bar area that gets lively in the evenings without being rowdy.
