ibis Manchester Centre Princess Street Overview

First Impressions

Walking up to the ibis Manchester Centre Princess Street, you’ll notice it doesn’t try to be something it’s not — and honestly, that’s refreshing. This three-star hotel sits right on Charles Street, and while the exterior is pretty standard ibis fare, the location immediately tells you everything you need to know. You’re literally in the thick of Manchester’s city center, with that constant hum of urban energy just outside your door.

Location & Getting Around

Here’s the thing about this hotel’s spot — it’s actually brilliant for exploring Manchester on foot. You’re a stone’s throw from the Northern Quarter (maybe a 5-minute walk), and getting to places like the Arndale Centre or Manchester Cathedral is ridiculously easy. I mean, couples consistently rate the location 8.8 out of 10, and after spending time here, I totally get why. The tram stops are close enough that you don’t need to think twice about hopping over to MediaCity or catching a match at Old Trafford. Plus, you know how some city center hotels feel isolated despite being central? This one doesn’t have that problem.

The Rooms

The rooms are classic ibis — clean, functional, and surprisingly comfortable for what you’re paying. Don’t expect upscale touches, but the beds are genuinely good (they take their Sweet Bed concept seriously), and the bathrooms are compact but well-designed. What I appreciated most was how quiet the rooms stay despite being right in the city center — the soundproofing actually works. The decor is that modern, minimalist style ibis does well, with pops of color that keep things from feeling sterile.

Breakfast & Dining

The breakfast setup here covers all the bases with both full English and buffet options. It’s not going to win any awards, but it’ll definitely fuel you for a day of exploring Manchester. The full English is solid — proper bacon, decent sausages, and they don’t skimp on the portions. If you’re more of a continental breakfast person, the buffet has fresh pastries and fruit that actually taste fresh. The dining area gets busy around 8 AM, so either go early or embrace the lively atmosphere of fellow travelers planning their day.

Why Guests Love It

What really works about ibis Manchester Centre Princess Street is how it nails the essentials without any fuss. You’re paying for location and reliability, and you get exactly that. The staff genuinely seem to know Manchester well — they’ll point you toward the best curry houses on Curry Mile or tell you which pubs actually have character. For couples especially, having everything walkable means you can be spontaneous about dinner plans or evening entertainment. It’s the kind of place where you drop your bags, grab the key, and head out to explore, knowing you’ve got a comfortable base to return to.

To book a hotel in Manchester during festival weekends, visitors plan ahead to balance warehouse concerts with gallery crawls.

The location is fantastic. The room I got was small. Perfect for one. My room was decorated with modern minimalism. Very close to the gay district and the train. The staff was always friendly and helpful. This area is saturated with food bike delivery services. I only used Uber Eats and the delivery is lightning fast so the food was always hot. The cleaning staff was top-notch!
