I mean, the location is pretty much perfect if you want to be in the thick of things without the chaos. You’re literally in the heart of Manchester, but tucked away just enough that you’re not dealing with constant noise. The Upper King Street area has this lovely mix of historic architecture and modern energy — you can walk to the shopping districts, catch a show, or just wander the streets and stumble upon those little independent cafes that make Manchester special. Couples seem to absolutely love it here (they rate the location 9.4, which honestly makes sense when you experience it yourself).

The Room Experience

Here’s what really surprised me — the beds are genuinely exceptional. I’ve stayed in plenty of places that promise comfort, but this is one of those rare spots where you actually wake up feeling like you slept well. The room design strikes this perfect balance between boutique character and practical comfort. You get those lovely period details you’d expect in a conservation area building, but everything’s been thoughtfully updated. The bathrooms are particularly well done — not huge, but cleverly designed with quality fixtures that feel substantial.

The restaurant downstairs has become something of a destination in its own right, which is always a good sign. The atmosphere manages to be both relaxed and sophisticated — you could easily have a business dinner here or just settle in for drinks with friends. What I really appreciate is that it doesn’t feel like typical hotel dining where everything’s a bit too polished and impersonal. The staff actually seem to know their regulars, and speaking of regulars, there are definitely more repeat guests here than you’d expect, which tells you something about the overall experience.

  Great hotel for the price. Comfy bed and room, nice quiet part of town so no road noise. Good water pressure, fantastic shower and bathroom facilities.
