Lushpads Overview
First Impressions
Walking up to Lushpads on Oldham Street, you immediately know you’re in the thick of Manchester’s creative pulse. The four-star property sits right in the Northern Quarter — honestly, you couldn’t ask for a better spot if you want to experience the real Manchester. The building itself has that perfect blend of industrial heritage and modern polish that this neighborhood does so well, and there’s something genuinely exciting about checking into a place where you can practically feel the energy of the street scene just outside.
Location & Neighborhood
I mean, this location is pretty much unbeatable if you want to be where things are actually happening. The Northern Quarter isn’t just trendy for the sake of it — it’s got this authentic creative vibe with independent record shops, vintage stores, and some of the city’s best street art literally on your doorstep. You’re a two-minute walk from Afflecks (that wonderfully chaotic indoor market), and the tram stops are close enough that getting to other parts of Manchester is effortless. What I really love is that you can walk to the main shopping areas and business district, but you’re staying somewhere with actual character rather than in some generic city center spot.
The Rooms
The rooms at Lushpads strike this nice balance between being properly comfortable and having some personality. They’ve clearly put thought into the design — it’s contemporary without feeling cold, and there are touches that nod to the building’s history and the area’s creative spirit. The beds are genuinely comfortable (which honestly matters more than anything fancy), and the bathrooms are well-appointed with good water pressure. You know what I appreciated? The rooms actually have proper storage space and decent lighting, which sounds basic but you’d be surprised how many places get that wrong.
The Experience
What sets this place apart is how it feels like it belongs in its neighborhood rather than just being dropped there. The staff clearly know the area well — they’ll point you toward the best coffee spots or tell you which nights have live music at the nearby venues. There’s this relaxed, unpretentious atmosphere that fits perfectly with the Northern Quarter’s vibe. The property manages to feel upscale and refined without being stuffy, which is exactly what you want when you’re exploring a creative district like this.
Why Guests Love It
Couples particularly seem to connect with this place, and I can see why — there’s something romantic about being in the heart of such a vibrant area while having a really comfortable base to return to. The combination of excellent location (seriously, that 9.4 location score makes complete sense) and thoughtful hospitality creates this perfect setup for exploring Manchester properly. You’re not just staying near the action; you’re genuinely part of it, but with all the comfort and service you’d expect from a quality four-star property.
Apartments in Manchester suit remote creatives with loft ceilings, fast Wi-Fi, and studio desks overlooking canals.

Fabulous location, 8 minutes walk from Piccadilly Station. The apartment was really lovely and clean, beds super comfortable and we had everything we needed for our one night stay to celebrate a special birthday. Our Host, Jennie was wonderful and answered all our questions about bars and places to visit, she was very accommodating and we would definitely stay again.

Everything, communication, location and everything was catered for. Daft things like every glass type and ear plugs (which came in really handy at 7am sunday morning. A lovely gentleman was in the street below demand his 'tenner' back from his mate that he had lent him, several months before) Couldn't fault the place, gorgeous!

The apartment was beyond what we imagined. Excellent space in the lounge area and an unexpected selfie station which was great for photos! We had everything – towels, tea, coffee, all necessary things for us to stay in. All beds were so comfy – slept so well! Flat was really clean and Jennie was so accessible and helpful. We would be more than happy to stay again. Highly recommended.
